The Royal Knights went to Burbank last Friday and come home with a dominating 55-6 victory over the Columbia Coyotes. Miguel Ayala and Darrin Miller each had 3 rushing touchdowns in the win.
This Friday the Knights travel once again. This time to Peshastin to face the CTL Champion Cascade Kodiaks. The Kodiaks have been on a roll after a few early season losses to Zillah and Mount Baker. Senior Running Back Dennis Merritt has run wild with over 200 rushing yards per game in each of the last five, including 285 yards on 28 carries in a big win over Cashmere last Friday. He has 25 touchdowns for the season.
Royal will have to stop Merritt before he gets up to speed and keep the other Kodiak weapons in check. Cascade has yet to face an offense that runs and passes well. The Knights will have to do both to come away with the win in what feels very much like a playoff game.
