In the 1A, I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock in these rankings. Out of the top 6 teams, only Royal finished first in their district. King’s finished 2nd in their district and 6th in the tri-districts and yet they are ranked #1 (huh?). One would think the coaches who vote on this would at least have the district play-off info in front of their noses before they cast their ballot. Based on district play, the top 6 teams are (in no particular order) Castle Rock, Lynden Christian, Lakeside, Chelan, Cedar Park, and Royal.

Anyone who has watched sports knows that you can throw ratings out the door when it comes to tournament time, the real issue is how your uniform looks and what ribbon you wear.

Well stras looks like the voters got it right in alot of places. Kings, Mead, win their tournaments. Maybe it's district play that didn't add up.

Class 1A Final Rankings
1. King's
2. Annie Wright
3. Royal
4. Onalaska
5. Granger
6. Cascade of Leavenworth
7. Lynden Christian
8. Chelan
9-16. Castle Rock, Montesano, Cedar Park Christian, Connell, Cascade Christian, Montesano, Meridian, Lakeside.

Tournament Finish
1. King's
2. Chelan
3. Cascade of Leavenworth
4. Castle Rock
5. Annie Wright
6. Montesano
7. Freeman
8. Lakeside

The rankings seem to correlate fairly well with the tournament results in the 1As. You may conclude that Royal, Onalaska, Granger and Lynden Christian were overated and Freeman who wasn't even in the top 16 was flying well under the radar.

Sounds like the 1A tourney was a great one to watch.

Congrats to King's on back to back state titles.
And Congrats to Chelan for a great Tourney!!
