We do have a good amount of returners but a lot of young guys have come out and stepped up as well. Our running game is run through two seniors (huge part of our success) but we have a great group of young guys. Our best receivers are juniors (Kendrick Johnson and crew). We have a young QB in sophomore Mitch Lines. The running game is the majority of our attack but Lines is capable of throwing some good balls to an improving, tall group of receivers. Things are looking promising for seasons beyond, too. Some very, very good underclassmen. Very pleased that Coach Steele returned this season as well. Already seeing the positive changes.
Hockinson hasn't allowed a single touchdown yet this season, only a field goal. That is very encouraging.
That said, we really haven't seen a formidable opponent yet. Prairie is a struggling 3A program. Mark Morris is the worst I have ever seen them and definitely are in a rebuilding phase. Hudson's Bay's athletics (especially football and basketball) are in a complete state of decay. La Center is a pretty good team but they lost a lot of guys last year. Ridgefield may present some challenges but I really am looking to their matchups with RA Long and Woodland to test them. Woodland is undefeated as well.
