A shoot out at the OK Corral. Must have been 150 passes thrown in this game. Crescent did not run the ball one time. Defense!!!! What is that????

The Crescent coach's report to the Peninsula News mentions that neither team ran the ball and the combined passing yardage was 1400+.

How did crescent score so much, couldnt lummi stop there pass if not, things arent looking good for lummi.

That score indicates that Lummi most likely had alot of younger kids playing in the secondary once they got a comfortable lead.

Crescent only had 1 interception and completed 28 of 49 passes for over 700 yards.

The score would more likely indicate that Crescent had inexperience in the secondary. They did with 2 8th graders and 2 9th graders in those positions along with one Junior. They play a 3-5 "D". Crescent only had 13 suited for the Varsity match as a JV game was played prior to the main game. Lummi has 31 kids on their roster and yes they did sub frequently. Lummi has a very good team in all areas. It was decided that we both wanted to play a full game, so we just opened it up and did nothing but pass the ball. Crescent's main back had sprained his ankle a few days before and couldn't go at more than 50% and the other two backs that play allot were disciplined before the game started and didn't play. Crescent's kids played their hearts out and never quit, as did the lummi kids. And I might add what a fine bunch of players and coaches they have. A class act all the way. They will go far and it will be a good game between them and L/W.

Those are some crazy numbers. Lummi really got some points on the board. Congrats to them.
