Nice to see Gobatto get some love from Yahoo Sports

Official "Unofficial" Gobbato Record, Now Not a Record

Just noticed at article at http://www.statewidestats.com/news/2012/11/more-on-gobbato-ikes-curtis-complete-vs-mini-playoff-games-state-rushing-records/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Statewidestatscom+%28StatewideStats.Com+News+%26+Blog%29

David Maley, the officially unofficial stats historian for Washington "does not count a team's (or a head coach's) wins and losses or individual marks in tiebreakers and mini-games, just 48-minute games.". Further, What I have for Gobbato is 2,661 for 2012 (10 full games; 5th place in state history) and 5,958 for his career (30 full games; 5th place in state history)

You can read the entire post at the link to understand more. In essence, the "official, unofficial" stats historian does not have Gobbato breaking the all-time rushing record. Statewidestats is keeping all of Gobbato's rushing numbers, including the tie-breakers, etc.

What was impressive to me in his last game was how hard he was running from the opening drive to the last run, he just did not quit. As with any rushing record, a lot of credit goes to the offensive lines he has played behind and the receivers that do not get many touches. Kudos also to their O-line coach.

Washington State Season Rushing -5th Washington State Career Rushing -5th Washington State Single Game Rushing -2nd (61 carries and 26 1st downs in a game would probably be a record too if it were kept.)
Regardless of the inaccurate headlines, Gobbato still put forth spectacular career/season/game that will be long remembered.
