South Bend

South Bend runs the veer-option well. It features the quickness and deception of QB Randy Eang. They were at Camp Rilea and looked good in the super-scrimmage. If defenders go for the fakes and don't "stay home" it will be a long night.

South Bend should be a state contender this year... they have a great offense that is ran by junior qb randy eang. he is smart and very fast, he can really make you look bad if you make a mistake or underestimate his quickness.. if there deffense can hold up as good as there offense then they should go far this year

Only problem with the veer... it is very quick and hard to get right. A good coach and strong defensive front line will blow it up every time. One of the reasons it has lost so much favor in the college ranks.

WHS

south bend should not be a state contender this year because they will not play anyone besides WV all year and even Willapa is down a little from years past. WHS is exactly right about the veer. a good d line and strong backers can take care of it pluse there are only so many things that you can do out of that set. if they get behind then they could be in trouble. more of a methodical type of offense for teams with big physical guys up front.

It hasn't lost it luster because of the powerful DLines, it is due to the speed of the LB's. At the HS level, if it is ran right just the like the Double Wing it is very effective.

South Bend gave LC a good game and has a great shot at beating Willapa Valley.

i though south bend wouldn't be a state contender this you said cwukid??? looks like they are doing pretty good to me with that veer option they run... they beat orcas island with it!

WHS1982,
Navy failed to get your memo. It's a good thing because they led the nation in running this year (327.4 yards per game). Oh and New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick called it "one of the best running offenses of the last decade." But what does he know?
