yakima to drop wrestling

yakima jc will drop wrestling after the 2008-2009 season to add girls cross country their ad who is also the basketball coach told the wrestling team today. this will make 5 sports for girls and two for boys.

hhhmm doesn't sound like that will comply with title IX. boys should really be throwing a fit. As should some of the parents of the boys that wnat to compete in athletics at Yakima JC.

Central, Univ. of Oregon, Fresno State, and now YVC. There is "ONE" way to stop this. Fire those folks who would drop our sport. Thousands of people writing in trying to save a sport has not and will not affect thsoe "few" would eliminate our great sport. Another, perhaps unorthodox approace must be taken, NOW, before there are no post-secondary schools for our wrestlers to go.
