I guess the Herald didn't get the memo...

See it doesn't matter what class we're in Colfax will always be ranked #1 in 1A. A little known WIAA rule, 3548.1254/258a-4685C "If a team wins four consecutive State Championships in a classification then changes classifications before being able to defend that classification's championship they shall be declared the 'Now and Forever Champion' of that classification in that sport for all time. Future tournaments in that sport and classification shall be to decide #2 through #9 placings." It's right there next to the banning of cheering in the Sun Dome amendment.

As I look at those rankings, I would have to agree that they don't mean much. I look at that as neither Cascade nor Onalaska is there and I think they established themselves fairly well this last weekend at Yakima.
