Any updates from Granger? How are things panning out?

Wapato beat Grandview in the championship something like 78-66. Grandview played the tournament short handed with only 4 varsity players, Lopez, Medina, Guillen, and Sears. Wapato was without Lavell Harris. Wapato will be flat out good. They run up and down the floor, pass well and play good defense. Smiscon is a lightning quick point guard and really makes things happen. Wapato jumped out to a 20 plus point lead early, but CJ Lopez once again made things interesting with his three point shooting nailing nine from behind the arc, and also made three free throws on a three he was fouled on. When both teams have all their players we could be looking at some Grandview Wapato games this year that have the flair of 1999-2001. I really credit Grandview's young sophmores to be for playing an entire JV tournament, as well as contributing minutes to the Varsity's cause. Hats off to Chris Hernandez, Gerardo Ramirez, George Magana, and Matt Garcia. Frankie Medina was the lone senior playing for the hounds this weekend, and after missing last year with a football injury it will be fun seeing him lead this exciting team come winter. Grandview, Wapato, Prosser, East Valley, Ellensburg, Ephrata, possibly Toppenish should be a very exciting and fun league. I sure hope we get three births to state in the CWAC.

Seattle Christian beat Zillah by 6 in the 3rd/4th game. Zillah was without Sybouts, Gasseling, and Winters. Couldn't say who SCHS was missing. Close game the entire way.

I think the pools finished up like this:

Pool A - Wapato, Seattle Christian, Granger, LaSalle
Pool B - Grandview, White Pass, Cle Elum
Pool C - Sunnyside, Burbank, Hermiston JV, Highland
Pool D - Zillah, Riverside Chr., Overlake

After pool play:

Granger over Cle Elum
Overlake over Hermiston JV
Hermiston JV over Cle Elum
Overlake over Granger

Quarterfinals:

Grandview over Riverside Chr
Zillah over White Pass
Wapato over Burbank
Seattle Christian over Sunnyside

Consolations:

Sunnyside over Burbank
Riverside Chr over White Pass ? (not sure)
Burbank vs W Pass ????
Riverside Chr vs Sunnyside ????

Semis:

Grandview over Zillah
Wapato over Seattle Chr

White Pass beat Burbank and Sunnyside beat Riverside Christian. Sybouts did play in the Zillah Grandview game.

Sybouts played Friday night against Overlake, did not play Saturday, then played Sunday morning and did not play Sunday in the 3rd/4th place game. He played in 2 of the 6 games. Gasseling played Friday and Saturday but not Sunday. Winters played Friday and Saturday but not Sunday.

Heard that the Freshmen Espinoza and Guevara got a lot of playing time for Wapato and did pretty good! With Harris in Denver and most of the team not even showing up all at the same time. who would of guessed that the Wolves would have taken there second tourney of the summer? Harris said his team took 6th outta 44 teams in some big tourney in Denver,CO.

well there was an native-american olmpics going on in Dever. so Harris was probally playing on the Team Washington basketball team. I know for sure that white swan graduate Chris Jones was playing on that team.
