King Nissan Post #7 of Bellingham, WA is now 1-1 in the American Senior Legion World Series being held in Bartlesville, OK.

This team has players from the WIAA 2A State Championship Sehome team, as well as from Ferndale, Meridian, and others in the area. It would be a big step for Western Washington baseball if they can bring home a National Championship after Eastern Washingtons recent dominance in summer baseball and the 2005 2nd place finish by the Kennewick Bandits at the Legion World Series.

This is probably the most significant Summer baseball championship in the United States. Many of the "SELECT" teams from Washington end up recruiting players and BUYING their way into the "world series" of organizations with very little credibility. Chaffey Baseball of Seattle has been NABF (or something like that?) World Series Champions before, but they haven't beaten anyone in a LEAGUE, DISTRICT, REGIONAL tournament to get there.

What an amazing accomplishment for the group of kids and I hope they bring home the title.

Dont forget the Twin-City Titans placed 2nd in the World Series in 2006. Two Eastern Washington teams placing 2nd back to back years is pretty impressive.
