I look at scores and watched a few games in the mid valley. Everyone beat everyone and all close games, even #7 Wapato had very close games. Look at districts, Selah #6 beats #3 SS, Only loses to #2 Hanford by 10 at Hanford, loses to #1 E-Burg in OT and heard they missed two easy shots in reg. to win, then travels to Cheney in a regional game and had a last shot to win that one in reg. but lost in OT. Take #5 WV, plays in district championship after losing to Selah a week before, by beating E-burg, loses to Hanford in 2OT, beats Cheney by 2 (did you get a film from Selah, if so you owe them, 2 points were huge) then loses to E-burg after beating them a few days before that to miss out on state. #3 SS and #4 Prosser were not even in the mix. So was the league that tough night in and night out? I see that all East side teams lost at State in 1st round by close games, looks like the mid-valley all over again except no 2nd chances to beat someone. Good luck the rest of the way E-burg. Mid valley sounds like it deserves something this year.

What we witnessed in the MVL this year was parity. Nobody had more than 2 outstanding players, so no dominant team. Home court advantage was more important than usual.
Occassionally an underdog found some passion for one reason or another or the one or two good player(s) had an exceptional game and beat a team they should have lost to.....
The 1st team, together with player of the year Greg Johnson, can play with the all-stars from any league in the state.

The MVL wasnt as tough as many of the other leagues, as most know, but the competion within the league was great. It was a wacky season, and a great one to watch. Home court had a lot to do with outcomes of many games.

.....how tough is greg johnson and mike gray?

i have to laugh but its serious at the same time, mike playing in the state tournement with a broken nose to start out with, and leaving tacoma with his kick ass mask and 5 stitches in the chin

Greg who got a cheap shot elbow to the mouth bit all the way through his tounge and his lip, guesstimation of 10-14 stitches there and lost a ton a blood

its amazing to see these two stop at nothing and play through their injuries in their last game for highschool basketball

bravo gentlemen

oh and get better

its hard for us(east coast)to beat all the catholic private schools who recruit for their basketball teams...so if we beat u guys, u should be ashamed
