Hey guys. Just want to tell you about something that's caught my attention. Someone in the Lynden Christian community has created a website, ileague.us, that is a great site. here's what it basically does: it allows people to create a profile for their respectives schools and school sports programs, that allow you to follow on what's happening at your school. Check it out. It's a way to stay connected to your schools whether you still live in the town or if you live in a different country altogether. I'm writing pregame analysis' for the LC page, but we need people to check it out and start stuff for their respective schools. Like Film, we don't have to much, if anything, on Cedar Park Christian. Just scope it out guys and play around, see what you think. If you have any questions just post them on here. It's a very innovative new website, and it has some aspects of wapreps on it, but you can also focus on your loyalties even more. There is an app you can download, it's quite simply the ileague app. Check it out and give some feedback. We'd love to hear from you guys because we respect you guys very much. Thank you.

ileague is merely templating a couple schools to show what can be done in the system. It's designed to be run by each school's booster or athleticlub and is essentially a platform for each school to manage its own information! So what you see right now is schools who have started it up. LC was the first one because the guy who started it is an LC guy, so they were kind of the guinea pig, but now they (ileague) are expanding because they have added android and ipad apps. You can go to the About page to seee how it's managed. Thank you for checking it out! Really appreciate it.

Being out of town for much of the basketball season, I downloaded it. Being an NWC fan I have been very pleased with what I see. I just wish more schools would start in on it so that I could follow them as well.

Thank you CrazyKid. That is why we need more people to check it out and start in on setting something up for their school. Especially alumni who don't live around their school anymore, it allows them to stay on the in on what's happening.

Thanks for the mention Addicted, "iLeagueSports " app and website at iLeague.us is specifically designed to allow boosters or athletic supporters to capture all sports information about a single team or their entire schools sports. In today's world Alumni and supporters have so many different information sources to check in order to follow their team that it is simply impossible for most. ILeague is designed to be a mobile site with access to apple and android currently. Think of all the folks that have been involved in your schools athletic program over the last 50 years? They are your natural (financial )supporters, ileague is there to feed them them the culture, tradition and news from your perspective. ( think of the thousands of folks that at least have a small interest in knowing what is going on?. From a boosters view point how much simpler it would be to ask a couple thousand people for a $3.00 donation than what you go through now.And the appeal builds year after year. Ileague Sports provides an easy to use platform to keep and broadcast all the stories, pictures, videos, podcasts and inside team info that means so much. Feed your supporters first and they will feed you back.
ILeague is a high performance site but we spent much time making it useable for (trusted )folks whose technical skills are being able to type and use their smart phone ( very simple to load all the data). We are templating LC basketball and Lynden Football 2012- there is more information but it is more sporadic. One last item for boosters to work on is historical data- what a great way to get those former players involved by building their seasons into ileague ( we have started the early 60s at Lynden.) for more info look at our about page and to get answers contact ron@ileague.us.
I have to say it has been interesting following the comment and observations here on these boards- I like seeing you folks raise questions and being willing to step out and make predictions. Right or wrong they are fun to read.

Think in terms of 15 min per game to manage/ load the information into the website and remember this is not for us this is for your school your programs get the rewards of your effort.if you are one who understands or know folks in your booster club please pass this information on to them- we are at the 1a2a tourney. We have some handouts with us. Just shoot me a quick email .

We have had many questions: ileague Sports is a platform designed for each schools booster club , yes it can work well with only a couple or even one school in a conference operating their system. No, one does not need to be a sport writer to participate as each schools traditions and culture are important and unique ( your alumni appreciate it). No, there is nothing out there that works like iLeague that we have found over the course of 2 + years developing the platform. All advertising and support dollars and the value assigned to each spot is up to the market / school boosters- we want the program to keep the rewards of their effort- we are a simple fee , no matter what your program takes in. Yes, we will offer advice and some training. The scenario we see operating best is a small group 4-7) of sports oriented parents/ supporters. Yes , we have on purpose kept the system very simple to use - if one can use a blog site like this one can easily learn to use ileague. Posted content is entirely up to each school except we ask that rosters and roster pictures are a minimum. That's it for now

Check back in with the templates over the next several weeks as ileague sports allows the compilation( year booking ) of all information - it takes awhile. So what we have done is write a take of the game ( quickly after ) and then over time as pictures and articles come out we prioritize and then place with the intent to create a player by player - event by event - summary , in context of the season. This is fun to do because it can be done when time and the mood strikes :).

Re: ILeague Sports app

For those of you who appreciate the draw and life long connection prep sports brings: today's media is becoming more restrictive in its access - bellingham herald just went to a paid online access. As well as some radio stations are now charging for archived access. With all the technology avaliable today why can't booster clubs develop their own outreach and archive system? . The amount of lifelong interest is huge, this is the obstacle that ileague provides a way thru. Control your own sports history and promotion, capture a portion of advertising dollars for your programs and at the same time build your sports community. Google your school and see all the .coms that have nothing to do with your schools programs but are trying to brand. Ileague sports is a platform that allows your program to control and promote yourself and produce funds for your program- that is our difference we want you to be you and to greatly benefit from your clubs efforts.
Some Booster clubs are in need of more efficient organization - if thats you we suggest looking over the betterboosterclub.com material to help you create less work and more results. Ileague sports is built to create a network of schools who as they reach out to their supporters they also share who they are to other schools- the better you get at it the more folks that will connect with you.

Re: ILeague Sports app

An item of interest to us and I think to many of you is the lack of engagement in viewers versus posters- we have looked at this and think we have atleast a portion of the answer. General media does not really leave a question when they write and the teams themselves are usually black holes when it comes to information. One of the driving desires in the creation of ileague sports was to find a way to incentivize school/ teams / supporters to get rosters and roster pictures up so our curious minds could figure out who is who and start researching the season related questions. How do you do it?. Why are there more postings in 1a?. We feel it is the information is closer - ileague is designed to get more team & player - season information out into circulation / easier to find and self incentivize the programs that do so. The by product of this is the "open Question". Wash prep is really the best place to answer and discuss the "open question". We don't see schools/ boosters gaining much by debating - they have an obvious bias and their best messaging should be - their own traditions and inner sports culture as that is what alumni and supporters are seeking. Leave debating and conjecture to those who engage here. Please think on this as we at ileague want to see this forum grow and see high school sports well funded- we want schools and supporters to pay attention to their traditions and culture- we want them to see that the key to good sports actually starts when 3 rd graders start to feel the sports burn- that the Highschool boosters have the ability to reach down and significantly help build these dreams. We feel that it all starts by learning to communicate the unique and really interesting stories of the past. I for one love how Scott Sansberry writes, he goes beyond the game and constantly weaves tradition and culture. Every town & school has 15-20+ people who are the bearers of all local sports knowledge ( when you have 3 people to help, each sport will take 10 minutes a week to fully catalog on iLeague). We suggest getting them involved and take a disciplined approach to your fund raising by greatly broadening your net. this is a rising tide that will lift all other aspects as a bit of booster discipline & vision occur. We hadn't really intended to talk much about Ileague's goals here but I have a son who just finished his Highschool career and I have a daughter who graduated 4 years ago - both ball players who have and will enjoy fun, character building college ball , our family has spent countless hours in gyms across the west coast, we know the price these youngsters and parents pay to bring such emotionally driven entertainment to their field of play., There are many who are interested in todays and yesterdays stories but Sansberry and Carberry can't do it all , so with today's technology each program can own and pro-ject these stories out to the rest of us to engage in insightful discussion at places like Washington Preps. There is much more to talk about but I don't really know if this is the best place perhaps a few of you can tell us here if this is a worthwhile topic for Washington Preps.? We are just launching and everything is Marketing people and all to often we find they don't quite grasp what were doing:). Please let us know

A couple answers: ileague has been built to serve any team in the state with the exception of the B schools ( were waiting for level of interest.). We have carefully built the network in a fashion that opens up conferences as participants appear. Right now we only have the NWC to show you the example. It takes us about a day to open up new schools. So yes the entire network already exists but we refuse to be like others :) , we want each team/ booster / school to take the time to understand what they are looking at. This is a highly comprehensive communication system that has been built to accommodate very tech oriented supporters as well as the folks who hate the word computer , for those curious enough to participate and get their feet wet, We offer up to a 1 yr period in which to get your feet wet with out any costs. I

If someone is interested in starting ileague for their school what does it take? what's the process?

Re: ILeague sports

Email us at info@ileague.us / ron@ ileague.us - look at the iLeague.us about page - read / watch the video's- go through the examples in Lynden football 2012 and through Lynden Christian basketball 2011/2012. It will be great if you are part of a booster club already but if not take it to your AD and let them look at the system. ( here in a couple weeks we will have a spot for the Athletic Department -they will be able to post in a bulletin board style , pictures , news, updates from their phone) so many folks are switching to smart phones - last minute news on which door is open/ calls for last minute volunteer help-ect ect.
Grab a couple people who want to do fund raising/ protect history / and realize the real power lies in the thousands of alumni that would follow/do already casually follow their old teams but now you make it easy. There are so many information sources much of what you do is provide a central hub and then you add your own twist by doing pregame & post game analysis.
- one can learn how the system works in about a hour - we kept it simple . There are many 501c clubs already out there that are ready to go , we offer up to a year learning and building phase before the subscription costs any money- if you don't have a booster club, find a local business / or individual that can sign the operating contract with us - as a business understands the prime advertising Realestate ileague provides they will jump to help. ( you can open up a single sport if you want - one of the biggest complaints in booster clubs is one sport getting all the attention - with ileague if you have a decent writer you can

really help grow the viewership of less attended sports- with iLeague, each sport has equal opportunity to fund raise all it takes is a few individuals who attend these events - capture links to news- take pictures/ video and write a recap from the teams perspective. Our template schools are really starting to gain attention. ( remember we are early here - you are seeing something that will not be advertised outside of NWC for awhile yet. Don't let that stop you, we just want the clubs who run ileague to be truly interested in being effective and it takes some time for those folks to appear. So we are focused on NwC, readers/ contributors to Washington Preps are naturally more tuned to be the ones to bring this into their favorite team. *you can create a custom school app or just by linking to your existing website all the work many of you have already done is not wasted it just becomes another information source that feeds your Ileague out reach tool.
To sum it up- there is a great deal of time being used on traditional fund raising- how much better would it be to have a couple thousand viewers spread around the world who can closely follow all team(s) news brought to you by the folks who love and know the team/ kids /coaches and culture best- feed your supporters that internal news allow them access to your competitors site doing the same - how much more fun could it be. ( of course we don't suggest putting up secret strategy and such:). Unless you are about to play Lynden or LC :) my home town personal favorites.
we offer the ability to increase attendance especially if you get the kids involved telling the community to come watch-( be creative add context to your season - so supporters can miss a couple games and by reading off their phone they can still feel tuned in) hand out free tickets in the neighborhood - do promotional events that increase attendance instead of the somewhat dreary work it takes to once again hit the same business and individuals for 500.00$ at a wack- along with getting gramma and uncle sue to buy another coupon that never gets used. It takes some vision beyond a single fund raising need, to want to get involved with ileague as it is going to take awhile to organize- ( much of this work can be done wearing PJ's with a cup of coffee) start building your historical info- your current info - who is going to be your sports information director( SID- all colleges now have them to do just what were talking about and many colleges are still missing the boat on connecting with alumni. * key point - involve your AD early, don't make their job harder- done right ileague makes their job easier. Follow what were doing but better yet be the ones who realize the world and draw is much bigger than the next chaos filed spaghetti feed/ how cool would it be to capture and live stream a booster auction to 3000 potential bidders?. We know it will take some time and some work - most likely it will be a team of 10 people who just truly want to be effective and build a long term productive out reach but then isn't that what we keep telling the kids it takes to make the varsity team?.

We would really like to talk to/ hear from Warrant 3 - hint hint.

Re: ILeague sports

- it's easy to start your school on iLeague - you have up to a year with no risk - it helps to have a 501c3 set up already - if not there are ways to get going anyways- first step is to explore what were doing and think about how much more effective it can be to reach out and collect small consistent supporter dollars than always Being focused on the chaotic, heavy manpower fund raiser or do both with more effectiveness. call or email us your questions. Thanks

Re: ILeague sports

More questions: As we started putting together ileague we noticed that most booster clubs are event/ season driven with emphasis on junior and senior parents. We understand great sports programs began when kids are dreaming and working by the 6 th grade but boosters generally involve themselves much later. you will struggle with your booster club organization if you are not engaging and involving parents with kids in junior high.
A high priority is to find your audience and give them something interesting & personal to your culture & history to connect to that's where iLeague serves your booster club - and lack of is why many boosters struggle - no audience other than what you can capture for your immediate need. We love our program and of course want it to succeed but the only way it will is for us to help you build / connect / and give your fans a reason to actively stay in touch with you. Feed them first
We suggest taking a close look at Betterboosterclubs.com, be as effective as possible with your time and effort. Personally, we have been blessed to be involved in a community which has naturally grown over 50 years with a strong youth sports culture and now a strong identity, strong programs and traditions make strong kids.
One of us will be down at the 1a/2a Allstate game today with more information. We will be following Isaac Reimer :)

Re: ILeague sports

We are going with the build it and they will come, we are willing to engage in conversation on wash preps as you folks are interested in high school sports, however in order to do the most good we would like to hear feedback from this community. We see you would like more folks to engage but right now the conversation seems limited and as fun as this has been its awfully quiet for a group that seems to have many opinions:). We know where were going with ileague and the good it will do for each school and their athletes. We will most likely be running an blog site soon as answering questions needs to be done so the casual observer can learn at the same time. For those of you whose heart is with a specific program or sport and realize what having a hub of school specific sports information would mean as far as viewership and what that viewership means in terms of fund raising pay attention. Follow the progress of our template schools and or contact us so as we start the information blog you are able to access the information.
We will comment on this post occasionally as new information/ new tools are tested and we seek open opinion. Thanks

Re: ILeague sports

We have opened up a couple optional tools, one for the booster club and one for the athletic department to use iLeague as their own informal information board that is manageable with a smart phone- No more delays getting the word out.
* In doing this we also made the iLeague Sport app free.
Spring and summer will be a great time to understand why the app gives you the reach to connect with natural supporters, for those of you wanting to move out of the 1950's. We will help.
There is news and events that start soon that are important to next years team, do you think there are fans that would like to know just what your program is up to? Or do you do the same last minute fund raise drive and expect different results?.
( Tip:), A 9 month information blackout is not the way to do it.

We have listed the schools in the NWC conference: We are working only with Lynden and Lynden Christian in order to build the model-. iLeague Sports is designed for Booster clubs or Teams to work with, ILeague as a sports digest will grow as sports enthusiast realize that they have hundreds of people who follow them already and will greatly increase that number as they increase awareness. Right now unless you are inside the schools sports culture most of the relavant information is never seen. Currently Booster clubs generally derive their funds from the same 20 business and same grandparents. We know that there are many people who stay away from boosters because of the single season focus and the chaos that is involved. As our model schools grow in content and creativity the benefit of iLeague will become increasingly apparent. For those of you who are reading this - you are the type of people who like the culture, history and inside stories, contact us and we would be happy to discuss by phone or in front of your booster club.
iLeague Sports is a long term program that is run by those closest to the sport, it is designed so that the boosters/team derives the greatest financial benefit. We at ILeague Sports merely provide the foundational vehicle to operate from. We built this so that even folks without many computer skills can operate and turn out out a great product. So if you are one of those wishing there was a better way to protect & promote your teams history and current news- we are it.
Currently all Washington state schools can use iLeague Sports but we are based in the NW and we have our roots at the Lynden schools.

What were doing is obvious but only until one digs in. Google your team and see how many different companies are trying to capitalize on your brand. ILeague sports is set up to allow each team to own it's own brand plus have access to other teams who decide their own culture and history is worthy. There are big booster dollars at stake plus the fun of it.
These other companies and I'm sure more to come realize that highschool sports are relatively un touched and mostly because the folks closest to the teams don't think about the hundreds if not thousands of people who would like insightful information plus a single point where they could see team and other media about a game or a season.
What were doing is providing a vehicle that will allow a team/, a school, a booster club to decide that game and team info is the single biggest draw they have- iLeague allows them to reach out in a very personal way.
The process we are involved in is creating "awareness" we're simple to operate but we are finding out that we are way out front with our idea- in most cases booster clubs are still focused on the 1950's method of fund raising - we offer much more .
We're hoping that folks on this blog will carry the message as you folks are engaged in the new media already all iLeague sports does it make it easy for fans to take 5 minutes and find all relevant info and for the booster club to realize that is the best fund raiser possible.
iLeague Sports is already set up for the State of Washington we have not turned on other schools , we are waiting for understanding to grow.

ILeague Sports app is in the final stages of creating the template, looks like none to soon either. Sports information is changing as you can see from postings level here. Facebook and Twitter are filling the need for commentary however those are junk sites like a sugary candy instead of real food. But it fills that desire to engage. We look at this sports blog site as one of the best to discuss teams and players but the momentum is working different directions at this moment.
The junk social media sites while often containing very fun & relevant pieces of information disappear and reach very few people in actuality, iLeague provides structure and identity to team that cannot be reached by social media or even individual websites.
Fans only have so much time to spend looking for information and then they quit.
ILeague Sports provides, context and the best information platform from those closest ," original source material". The best part is small time requirement , passion and credibility to your team is all it takes. The by product is a great fund raiser, the other great by product is to be able to direct local sports attention back to this blog site for the larger picture and greater attention on relevant news.
Social media has changed much, not all of it good but it is opening peoples eyes to the possibilities , now the goal is seeing sports information being kept as real food. Versus the other :).
We are ready to go state wide, we are looking for the the early adapter/ self starter / Booster club who is ready to do something measurably positive in controlling their own information. Contact us as we are beginning to look for opportunities to speak to booster clubs. iLeague is simple and has no upfront risk.

We have been involved in this site as we feel this audience is the one that shares our values. To date this is the only site we have expressed our mission with. If you have a heart for a particular school and enjoy the history , traditions and culture of a program then iLeague is what your looking for.
If you are a booster club tired of high energy low reward events then have us come and explain the mission. Ron@iLeague.us or phone 360-815-5914. We have have a /info /media tab at iLeague.us.
It takes awhile to establish process & procedures inside a club- soon would be a good time to get ready for fall sports.
