Now that we have a couple of weeks of play under our belt, anyone change their picks for the standings? Here are mine:

1. Granger-head and shoulders above everyone else
2. Zillah-have good players in scoring positions, tradition will help them too
3. Naches-should be a dog fight for third, Naches gets my nod.
4. Goldendale-have good athletes, will fight with every one in this league
5. Mabton-quick, but that will take you so far. Chemistry will be the issue. Williams and Jiminez too much to replace.
6. Highland-they will finish 6th or 4th. If they place 4th than Mabton will place 6th
7. Cle Elum-sorry Cle Elum

What do you think?

Granger: Untouchable in league play. There is a huge gap between them and anyone else.

After Granger, they could finish in any order.

Zillah: They have tradition, but not loaded with talent like years past.
Naches: They have the 2nd most talent, but took a huge step down in coaching.
Goldendale: Could be 2nd. Could be 5th.
Mabton: Same as Goldendale
Cle Elum: Much improved. New coach has them playing hard.
Highland: Might surprise someone on a good night.

Re: rethinking the SCAC West anyone? PART II

After seeing these teams in action, here are some opinions. Other than Granger being carved in stone at the #1 position, the others are hard to call.

1. Granger: They will not be challenged by anyone in the SCAC. Period.
2. Naches: How does a team with this much talent look so bad?
3. Goldendale: Could be 2nd by end of season.
4. Mabton: Can't figure them out. They crush Zillah, then lose to Kiona-Benton. Huh?
5. Zillah: They need a lot of work, but have the best home court advantage in the league.
6. Highland: Beat Riverview on the road. They can give anyone 2-5 a game.
7. Cle Elum: Still 7th, but are looking better all the time.
