Royal will face the Connell Eagles in the state playoffs for the 2nd consecutive year. This time in the championship game. The two powerhouses faced off in week 7. Despite sloppy play from both sides, the Knights pulled off the victory 28-21. That game seems like ages ago. Both teams went on to dominate the rest of their regular seasons and dismantle every opponent in the playoffs leading up to this final challenge. Both teams are more similar than different. The two quarterbacks, Brian Hawkins for Connell and Kaden Jenks for Royal, have over 30 passing TDs and less than 10 interceptions. Both are completing 64% of their passes. Jenks has 14 rushing TDs, while Hawkins has 13. Both leading receivers, Corbin Christensen for Royal and Steven Kroontje for Connell, have over 1000 yards receiving. Christensen has 18 TD catches, while Kroontje 19. Both leading rushers, Jax Whitby for Connell and Danny Cuevas for Royal, average around 8 yards per carry and both have added 240 receiving yards to their offensive totals.

With this sort of parity and tradition, what will be the difference maker? Will either defense find a way to limit any aspects of their opponent’s offensive game plans? What about special teams or turnovers? Who will win the battle in the trenches at the line of scrimmage?

If you are planning to make the trip to Tacoma to experience the spectacle first hand, we will see you there. If you won’t be able to make the trip, join us and LISTEN LIVE at www.royalknightsfootball.com

Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 am and the broadcast will begin around 9:40.

Great analysis of the game, after reading that I am even more hyped.
These teams are pretty evenly matched, you failed to mention much about the coaches who could be the difference in this game, any idea who is winning that battle? whats the record is of Riner vs. Allred?
