How did P Brian Shannon from Capital not even appear on this list? he went 7-1 (with his only loss coming to 3rd place Kentwood) with a 1.51 ERA, 57 K's and 10 BB in 55.2 innings.

I'm not sure about the stats of other pitchers but I do know 2nd team P Alan Wright from Olympia lost three games (Mt. Tahoma, Central Kitsap, Puyallup) and had a worse ERA.

The single most important reason players get on all-anything lists is - THEIR COACH PUSHED FOR THEM TO BE ON THE LIST! I'm not saying all those players on all the all-anything teams don't belong there. In fact they probably do. But they don't get there unless somebody wants them there. And I don't see any closed door meetings with players voting.

You're right... Alan Wright (first year starter) has no place on this list. He's a 2A #3 at best. Weak arm, no fielding, and can't hit. But his coach pushed hard for him! But as the Narrows League Bay Division MVP he's a lock for at least 2nd team!

Then his catcher, Monson (a three year starter on varsity) ends up with only honorable mention..... yet he plays in the All Sate classic (which Wright isn't even selected) and is named both Offensive AND Defensive MVP of the series.... the first player in the history of the series to be named such! (Can you say, Aaron Sele, Willie Bloomquist, John Olerud, etc)

It's a complete sham, these "All-State" picks! Monson is going on to play college ball, while Wright is only trying to "walk-on" at UW!

To the person that wrote that Wright is a 2A #3 at best - Do you remember that Wright pitched 6 2/3 of hitless baseball against your cougs at the "Field of Legands"?

Too bad you guys couldn't get it done in districts like usual, or on your own field against the cougs. Congrats on hitting the 70 mph fastballs westfall was throwing for Capital, but you couldn't get it done against Shannon on your field, but he does throw a little bit harder than 70 so I can see why you guys had such a problem, and by the way he gave up less runs against your Bears than Wright did against the Cougs.
