kings hoquiam

The field is in Kings head, as they are slipping and sliding around.

Listening to the commentators on the Kings webcast they are commenting about how different the Knights are on field turf, rather than regular grass.

Hoquiam is getting a good pass rush against Kings and Green has been off on some of his early passes.

Half: Hoquiam 13 Kings 7

Hoquiam with interception on 4th and 1 and Kings a few yards from TD.

Kings punting more today that entire season combined. Kings definitely slowed by the field. Of course, that's part of being the home team.

Re: Hoquiam holds Kings on 4th down near the goal line

half green throws interception on hoquiams 2 yard line. it was four and one

Kings beginning to roll now; 21-13 ahead

Kings with a d stop and on the move. They score a td and are now ahead 21-13. 21 unanswered by Kings.

Re: Kings beginning to roll now

td kings sounds like kings is taking over. hoquiqm needs to do something to stop them. 21-13 kings

Re: Kings beginning to roll now

big turn around in the second half for the knights...finally woke up in the second half.

Re: Kings beginning to roll now

Really cool being able to see the game online, but those commentators are hard to listen too, especially the one. Good game though!

Re: Kings beginning to roll now

kings took over the second half. score with 2 seconds to go in game. 28-13. good game kings

Kings beat a very good team today. Hoiness is sure fast and a gritty runner. Kings has won the last two games in a rather unconventional way and that should make the competition nervous and makes them tough to beat. They are not just a passing team. Their defense can handle the run and swarms to the ball. After Green settled down, he was able to pick apart Hoquiam pretty effectively. Tip of the hat to Kings O-line. Sure Hoquiam sacked him a few times and rushed only 3 most of the time, but Green ends up on the ground for negative yardage hardly ever. Same versus CCS. Jacobson, Ishmael, Tranter, Jenkins, Friedline on the O-line have done a real good job this year. Kings just wore down the Hoquiam D. Judging from their scores, I doubt they have spent that much time on the field this season. Nice stadium, too. The grass was squishy, but held up pretty well. Maybe they will petition to have the Monty game played at Olympic? Now they have the revenge factor versus Monty.

I wasn't going to say this if King's lost because it would be deemed making excuses, but they just won that game with 2 starters out, one starter without the use of one arm, and another starter getting limited playing time.

Welcome to 1A football where the healthiest teams at the end have the best chance. Few teams make it through the season with their team intact. Meridian and Nooksack are two NWC 1A teams that have made playoff runs with many starters banged up and patched together with rolls and rolls of athletic tape and sheer will.

Everyone is in the same boat so no excuses.

Evergreen......

"There is no y in MONTE."

There use to be........as in, "Y can't we ever beat a Nisqually League team in the playoffs"

Good luck the rest of the way Monte !!
