Morrey Brown-Kentridge Class of 2007

Was to attend Cal Poly this year as a member of their Track Team.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days while they deal and heal with Morrey's passing. For his teammates and coaches as well.
He was a fine young man with a great work ethic with a determination and vision of what his future held. He will be missed in the hearts of Many in the Kent area.

God bless you for writing this. As his bereaved mother, you can imagine that I have combed the internet looking for any scrap of information, any little thread, any bit of reminiscence.

What was so heartbreaking is that Morrey had an undetected heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) that caused him to black out and then drown. Basically, Morrey got 7th in State in the 100m and 4th in the State decathlon with a bad heart. If we would have known, he would have never competed, but he definitely would have coached and cheered on others. But he also was a classical pianist, poet, and intellect.
