Bonney Lake gets within one game of going to state in their first year of existence, but in the end, it was Lakes righting their ship just in time to advance.

In the game with the biggest exclamation point of the day, Mount Spokane upsets University to earn their first trip to state. Then University's state streak ends at ten years after losing to Shadle.

Kingco 3A mauls Metro. We knew they were the better league, but usually one Metro team gets in. Not this year. In regular season, league tournament, and district tournament, Issaquah, Liberty, Mount Si and Sammamish keep re-shuffling their order. Look for them to challenge the Southwest for dominance at state.

Hanford misses state for the first time in fastpitch. That's a 14 year streak. Why the Mid-Valley and Greater Spokane leagues structure their post-season the way they do, I don't know. First-round loser-out games in their situation are kind of dumb.

Heartbreak again for Redmond. They were a 2 seed last year, and a 1 seed this year, and the last slow-pitch champion still hasn't made it to state in fastpitch.

Northwest 3A turned upside down. Sedro, Shorecrest and South Whidbey are all not what they used to be. This year's state representatives, Cedarcrest, Sehome, and Burlington-Edison have a total of one state appearance between them.

Tough going for top teams in the 4A District 3 and 4 tournament. Wilson, Rogers, Central Kitsap and Auburn-Riverside all won their divisions in the regular season, but couldn't make it to state.

More state first-timers; Granite Falls and Monroe (first time in 4A).

The West Valley-Selah score wasn't listed. Do you know the score from the 3A eastern regional?
