What is up with the All Area selections

I got home and read in the Chronicle Dec. 10th edition, that the Pac-9 defensive MVP this year only had 36 tackles. Jesus! As a graduated middle linebacker. I had over 100 tackles two years in a row. About 116 tackles my senior year. its ridiculous to think that you can make MVP wit less than 40 tackles. I'm not sayin I should have been MVP when I was in high school. I'm saying this guy shouldnt have been. I dont know who should have been. If I'm wrong, let me know and I will shut up.
