Another CCS/Monte classic. CCS dominated the first half but put the ball on the ground about 6 times in the first half and was only up 14-7 at half. Monte bottled up CCS in the 2nd half until the final 3 minutes. In between Monte missed 3 FG's (2 from point blank range with one that bounced off the cross bar) and an extra point.
CCS final broke through and scored on a quick drove with about 2 minutes to go -- 21-13 CCS. Monte came right back and scored plus converted the 2 pointer to make it 21-21 with about a minute to go. CCS then scored in about 3 plays -- two that were long runs by the Coug QB Goldsmith. He took it the final 40 and scored with 25 seconds left. Monte was unable to score again and the Cougs take down the Bulldogs for the 6th straight time (4 decided in final minute).
Fun game to watch although both teams made their share of mistakes.
Kings is up next for CCS.
