Richland won this game.... don't remember the score but its in the Tri City Herald's on line section.

I need to post a qualifier for the Columbia Basin Regional. It appears that Richland will be Graham-Kapowsin's opponent. However, due to the complicated nature (at least to me) of the way the east side tournament works, involving the areas of Tri-Cities, Yakima and Spokane, their last play-in game will not be until this Tuesday. Moses Lake is the #2 seed from the CBL (the old Big Nine). Other teams involved are Friday's winners of the Ferris/University game and the Gonzaga Prep/Mead game. If anyone has a clearer picture, please chime in.

That's pretty much how it is, and we should learn the #3 team from the mysterious 5/6/8 "district" sometime this week. Their "district" is more of a "regional", even though their 1-2-3 are sent to the ACTUAL "state regional", which are just simply... the state playoffs ...HELLO?

We went through this exact same confusion last season, and even before that. Not quite sure why the WIAA/CB/B9/GSL authorities keep promoting this idiotic east side play-in format. What's next? ...let's see... we'll hear whining from the right side of the state that the brackets aren't "fair" (yawn)...

You sure weren't kidding, Wolfreak. The "District" 5/6/8 is a bloody mess. Anyway, I called the athletic director for Richland High and got the scenario. Today at 4pm, Moses Lake plays Ferris. If Moses Lake wins, Richland will play Graham-Kapowsin and Moses Lake will play University of Spokane If Ferris wins, University will play Graham-Kapowsin and Richland will play Ferris.

That's how it's going down, my friend. I still laugh at just WHY they play WAY too many games over there on the right side to get to the actual state tournament...
