Thanks for the post. The 160 lb winner from Republic is Landis Mills. Good Job to all the wrestlers. Looks like a competitive tourney. Would like some details on the matches between Avelar vs Olson, Barajas vs Gubler, and Mills vs Stanger.

I have a few questions about some key matchups:

@ 103:

Was the championship match between Hall and the Royal kid a pretty defensive struggle? 2-0 O.T. must have been very slow paced

@ 140:

Jordan vs. Villegas. What was the match like before the pin?

I beleive that the score before heading into overtime was 7-7 or 8-8, so 2-0 wasn't the actual final score. It was more like 10-8. Hall appeared to be the more technical wrestler and Cortez appeared to be a little stronger.

2 questions?

1. What happend to Ryan Homer, all this talk about him being "UNTOUCHABLE" and he doesnt win. sounds like somebody was tooting there own horn!

b. At 112 who beat Ryn Rollins, wasnt he a trisate placer, he should have just walked thru this tournament

dont know for sure but when Homer was done wrestling his first match he looked like he might be sick, not from Burbank just letting you know what i saw.

To answer wrestling_171's 2nd question:

Rollins wrestled at 103 at Tri-state. At 112 there were quiet a few decent wrestlers and 103 to 112 can be a big difference.

No idea what happened to Homer, and I don't think anyone really thinks he is completely untouchable.

171...i rephrase my earlier statement about homer being a solid wrestler. ryan homer of c/b is a decent wrestler. he lost to lake roosevelts jv kid in the first round. this was not a lucky pin or head and arm. it was a 13-10 decision.

i have to agree that mitch christensen is goin to be someone to watch in the future...he is showin great intensity on the mat and doesnt give up easily

Re: Royal Rumble Results-189 finals/?

What was the score of the match or was it close b4 the pin between Hector Ledezma and Evan Brown?

Re: Royal Rumble Results-189 finals/?

I couldn't tell you what the score was before the pin, but Hector pretty much seemed to be in control with a decent lead.

Ryn Rollons was beat 8-3 by Sam Halverson and yes 112 is much tougher than
103 this year... Ryn is a good wrestler but Halverson had his number.

Homer was never deemed an untouchable. He was definitley projected to be
a top 4 or so finisher tho, and still probably will be.

103 - Takedown 2-0 Royal after 1, period 2 started on their feet Takedown
for Royal 1 point escape for Colfax... Score 4-1 Royal after 2 periods.
Colfax chose down, 2 point reversal Colfax to make it 4-3, Royal reversal
6-4, Colfax reversal and a 2 point near fall to make it 7-6 Colfax with
about 15 seconds to go..... Royal was trying for 2 and went to his back
the official was counting near fall points but the assistant referee stopped
the match and called illegal locking hands (I have watched the tape a couple
of times and still have not figured that one out).... So it was 7-7 in OT.
Colfax had a nice deep shot and Royal countered it nicely.... 2 takedown and Royal gets the win... A good match.

I am not sure what the score was but I believe Villegas controlled it the whole time (I was still looking at video).... I do know Jordan was pinned with the cradle.

Yep the final score was 9-7.
And OLDG is correct, Hall was a bit more technically sound but Cortez
had it in the strength department.

Drew also hasn't wrestled in the passed month hardly either, and from what I hear was having a hard time getting back down to 103. He will bounce back from this loss
