Yesterday afternoon, XC runner at lakewood high school was killed in a car accident. He took 2nd place at 2A State Meet last year.

Tragedy at Lakewood

We heard about the loss just before practice today. The guys have known Scott for a few years and really liked and respected him as a person and a runner. Needless to say we were stunned. Our practice turned into a long easy run to process the loss of a friend. Scott Skiles was a great kid and a classy competitor. The running world has lost a quality athlete and the Lakewood community has lost an honest soul.
