Last Saturday at Lakewood we saw a team run 1-5 and place 10 runners in the top 22. We saw new race records set in all most all the races and we saw 989 boys and girls run.
To start out the day a freshman girl from Granite falls (this was her first year of running) Rhiannon Alexander wins the 2A Cascade Conference girls race in 19:16. Over all Cedarcrest took first, followed by Lakewood second and Kings third. In the boys race Lakewood's Taylor Guske won his second straight title in 16:26 leading the Cougars to their 6 straight Cascade Conference title. ATM was second and Kings was third.

In the Wesco south Jackson's Mitchell Briggs lead his team in 15:55 to the perfect sweep of 1-5 for a perfect score of 15. Jackson placed 10 runners in the top 22. (they also placed 1-6 in the J.V. run) Glacier Peak took second and Shorewood took third. In the Girls Wesco south race it was another freshman runner Glacier Peak's Amy-Elosie Neale won in a new record time of 18:15 leading her team to a first place finish. Shorewood took second and Jackson place third.

In the Wesco North boys race Cascade's Dylan Hopper won in a time of 16:13. Everett took first followed by Lake Stevens and Cascade took third. In the Wesco North girls race Stanwood' Minna Fields won in a time of 18:41 to help her team take first place, followed by Oak Harbor in second and Snohomish taking third. In all it was a great day of runnung and the weather was great. Good luck to all the teams at district this weekend at South Whidbey High School
