North Central: very good guard (Beal) and decent post (Neil); rest of the team provides good depth. Primary problem with them is that they seem not to understand the personnel of the teams they play. By that I mean that they are out expending as much defensive effort on total non-players as they do on a team's star. This defensive ploy has kept some inferior teams in the game with them. Also, they sometimes will allow the other team to dictate tempo. West Valley is loaded, although their point guard is not a great shooter. Their coaches do just the opposite of NC's - they over-coach which means that you always have a shot at getting back in the game if you can withstand their initial barrage. NC beat WV twice because both teams were trying to run and gun, and with NC's edge at the guard position (they can start 3 players who can all shoot and handle the rock) WV had no chance. They should have controlled the tempo more and taken advantage of their inside advantage. WV is the better team in terms of players.
