Cedar Park up 33-12 over Cascade Christian at the Half at CCHS. The Cougars couldn't make a shot and CPC was hitting everything - Game over at the Half Right? Not so fast the Cougars poured in 24 3rd qtr points to cut the lead to 10 entering the 4th qtr. Cougars down 1 with 2.7 seconds left and shooting 2 free throws which were both missed but Spencer 6'10" kid with the rebound and the basket at the buzzer to carry CC over CPC 52-51. Unbelievable 2nd half performance by the Cougars handing CPC their 1st loss of the season. The Cougars are tied with Eatonville for 2nd place. CPC has first place locked up and will be heading to Regionals. Wow what a comeback by the Cougs. I don't know what coach Williams said to his team at half but they sure put out maximum effort in the 2nd half - led by Spencer and Kushan who had big second halves.

Playing on the road is always dangerous on any given night due to a lot of factors. This was surely the case tonight. If you were not in the building you really won't get a complete picture of this shocking Cascade Christian win. Many of you said Cascade Christian gets better late. A string of uncharacteristic yet costly 2nd half turnover calls hurt the Eagles. Lots of credit goes to the Cougars for keeping their 2nd place hopes alive and battling hard even when down and outmatched in the first half. Despite carrying 4 fouls from just after the break, Spencer played a much better game vs. CPC than the last outing and the Eagles brought a big crowd down to see it. Playing tougher league games to prepare for post season was a major factor of CPC's move to Nisqually where it seems just about every league game is a battle. CPC will come out of this a stronger team and won't have to think about this one long with another road game Thursday night versus Charles Wright.

Never count out Cascade Christian. They proved that last year when they were a play away from playing for a third straight championship, and they are proving it again. Very dangerous squad. Probably my dark horse pick.
