The Royal Knights went down to Zillah this past Friday and pulled off a win that many would have considered nearly impossible. On the first meeting between the two back in week four, Zillah roughed up the Knights and put the game out of reach before halftime. This time around, the players and coaches dug deep and put together their best performance of the year. They took a 17-7 lead into the break and the defense rose up to shut out the Leopards in the second half. Those who have been around the program forever call it the biggest upset in Royal Knight history.

This week the Knights will have to continue to build momentum and not squander the opportunity that defeating Zillah has afforded them, by playing another complete game in the first round of the state playoffs against the Riverside Rams (8-2, Chattaroy, WA) of the NEA league. The Ram offensive attack is balanced and dual-threat quarterback Sam Zanoni will control the throttle. He will be joined in the backfield by Ryan Cotner and Jacob Collins. Cotner appears to be the "power" runner and Collins provides the "burst". Receiver Dallas Shuler will be Zanoni's primary target through the air. Shuler is an exceptional athlete, both offensively and defensively.

The Knights should be as healthy and complete as they have been all year. With the same level of intensity and urgency that they displayed last week, the Knights are capable of advancing into the quarterfinals with a big win tonight.
